Frequently asked questions
When does billing start?
Billing starts only when you click Go Live on a program. Until then, building and testing is completely free with no time limit. Your data is always preserved.
How is my tier determined?
Your tier is set by the annualized written premium of each program — calculated automatically from your trailing-12-month bound policies. New programs start on Starter. When a program crosses a tier cap (for example $1M WP into Growth territory), you receive 30 days notice in-app and via email before the new tier rate applies on the next billing cycle. No surprise upgrades.
What if my program is between tiers?
You stay on your current tier until you cross the cap of the next one. So a program writing $4.5M in annualized premium sits in Growth; once it crosses $5M, it graduates to Scale on the next billing cycle. Programs that shrink can also be downgraded -- annual review with your account.
What counts as an "active program"?
Any program with a deployed live portal or active live-mode API endpoints. If you pause or undeploy a program, it stops counting toward your monthly fee. Test-mode programs are always free.
What happens if I exceed my monthly transaction bucket?
Nothing breaks -- overage usage is billed at the rates listed in the usage breakdown below. Most customers comfortably stay within their bucket. If overages become consistent, that is usually the signal to move up a tier (the included allowance grows fast).
How does the billing pool work?
Per-transaction overage fees, pass-through integration fees (SignWell, AI form fill, address validation), and any other usage-based items are deducted from a prepaid balance. It starts at $100 and auto-refills when it drops below $25. Adjust anytime; full transaction detail in your billing dashboard.
Are third-party API integrations really free?
Yes. The API Integration Builder lets you connect any REST API (ePayPolicy, IPFS, CoreLogic, premium finance providers, etc.) at no additional charge. You use your own API keys and pay the third party directly -- we don't mark up or meter those calls.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes -- annual contracts save 15-20% across every tier. Talk to sales for terms.
